Summer is here, at least in the sales world: Lots of brands have summer sales going on right now, with quite good discounts on apparel, travel bags, water toys, portable speakers, and more. We rounded up the best of those summer finds, plus some on-sale items that would make excellent Father’s Day gifts because, as a reminder, that’s just over a week away. And for even more discounts, sign up for our email newsletter for five more deals (just for our subscribers).

Abercrombie & Fitch’s Dress Fest runs today through June 12, with tons of summer styles on sale. They’re already up to 20 percent off, but code DRESSFEST gets you an additional 15 percent off. This side-slit midi comes in several solid colors and prints and would make a great wedding-guest dress. (Note: Shipping is free on orders over $99.)

This casual romper can take you from the beach to dinner all summer long.

Urban Outfitters’ Summer Kick Off Sale is on, with up to 30 percent off summer fashion, home décor, and more. This small bag from Topo Designs — maker of some of our favorite travel bags and outdoor gear — is perfect for carrying around your phone, wallet, and a few small items.

Speaking of wallets, if yours could use an upgrade, this one by Herschel — which also makes some of our top travel bags — is compact yet roomy and has an RFID-blocking layer to keep your personal information secure. If ivy green isn’t your color, it’s on sale in five others.

Keep cool all summer with a very colorful and patterned pair of shorts made of 100 percent linen.

For the little ones, this seven-foot-tall strawberry-themed sprinkler is sure to delight.

Father’s Day is next Sunday, June 18. If you’re shopping for a dad who lives far away, a digital photo frame can help that distance feel smaller. Right now, our favorite (less-expensive) digital frame, the Aura Carver, is $30 off at both Aura and Amazon. Use code DAD if purchasing on Aura’s site (free shipping included), or check off the $30 coupon box on Amazon. It’ll arrive before June 18 no matter which site you order from, as long as you order soon.

Or, if your dad’s got a green thumb (or is working on his), Urbanstems is giving Strategist readers an exclusive 30 percent discount on plants with code STRATEGIST30. For the dads whose green thumbs are still a work in progress, this snake plant is low-maintenance, comes pre-potted, and has the added benefit of filtering toxins from the air. The discount ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 11, so don’t dillydally.

Adidas has a summer sale happening right now, too, with up to 50 percent off shoes, clothes, and accessories. If you’ve got a trip planned this summer, now’s a good time to snag a pair of these Cloudfoam sneakers, which one travel blogger says are her go-to for travel. The sale price differs by colorway, but these classic black-and-white sneakers are just $38 and still available in all sizes.

Or try the Ultraboosts, which have also been recommended to us several times for both casual wear and workouts. They’re discounted as low as $114, depending on the colorway. (The mens’ shoes are on sale, too.)

From $255

Also good for runners, Garmin’s Vivoactive 4S watch is only $200 right now. Former Strategist writer (and avid runner) Karen Iorio Adelson called it the best fitness tracker she’s ever tried (and she’s tried a lot). It tracks all sorts of workouts — running, cycling, swimming, skiing, and more — plus your daily steps, sleep, and calorie burn.

Whether for bike rides, beach trips, picnics, or barbecues, the JBL Clip is our favorite portable Bluetooth speaker. It’s lightweight yet has a ten-hour battery life and great sound quality, and right now it’s just $60 at REI.

The summer sales just keep coming: Baggu’s Summer Sale has deals on many of our favorite bags. Some of the discounts are fairly small (less than 20 percent), but the farther down you scroll, the better they get. Case in point: This extra-large striped tote that would make a great beach bag is half off. It’s also on sale in the pink-striped print.

Or get the pattern in backpack form, which is an even steeper discount at 60 percent off. It’s also on sale in khaki and pistachio, if you prefer a more neutral hue.

Also a steal: this very cheery Baggu bucket hat, which you can snag for just $11 right now. It’s on sale in several other colors and prints, too.

Another good Father’s Day gift: 23andMe’s DNA test kit. Ted Page, the founder and publisher of storytelling blog Good Grandpa, recommends the kit for grandfathers, saying DNA kits “inform us as grandparents about our own heritage, while also teaching the grandkids about science.”

When writer Sara Gaynes Levy tested nine wearable breast pumps, she found the Momcozy S12 to be secure enough to move around and cook in and reasonably priced for a wearable. It’s even more reasonably priced right now, at just $119.

Soon, it’ll be too hot outside to use your oven, so now’s a good time to finally get an air fryer. This is the ten-quart version of our best overall air fryer, so it’s great if you like to cook big batches.

If you don’t need ten quarts — or just don’t have the counter space for it — the six-quart version is also on sale for $100.

J.Crew also has a — you guessed it — summer sale right now, with up to 50 percent off. Lots of swimwear is discounted as part of the sale, including this simple French bikini top available in 13 colors (discount varies by color).

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
